VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. --  

The Payload Transporter Replacement (PTR) sits staged for training May 15, 2025, at Vandenberg Space Force Base, Calif. After eight years in development by the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, the PTR modernizes the transport, maintenance and sustainment of Aerospace Vehicle Equipment for the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile. Vandenberg is the third of four locations to receive the upgraded vehicle, which features enhanced security, improved logistics support and compatibility with future munitions facilities.
