Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is currently seeking one full-time Recruitment Program Specialist to work in the AFNWC Manpower and Personnel Directorate, Hill Air Force Base Operating Location, Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

This position (997279) is an NH-0301-03 which has a typical 2024 salary range of $86,962 to $134,435 (including locality).

*This position may be eligible for regular/recurring telework at the discretion of the hiring manager.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a recruitment program specialist, with primary responsibility for planning and executing a full range of recruitment strategies to increase access to a diverse civilian talent pool with the skills necessary to execute the AFNWC mission and related management advisory services for the AFNWC. 
  • Serves as a member of the AFNWC recruitment team in the performance of the full, lifecycle recruitment activities for AFNWC.
  • Researches and provides guidance to recruitment team, functional experts, staffers, and leadership on labor market trends to cultivate additional sources of well-qualified candidates.
  • Participates on special projects, job fairs, and university outreach associated with recruitment and retention, with a focus on hard-to-fill positions.
  • Regularly meets with management to discuss work status, get feedback on recruitment programs, plan time-phasing of placement, and to stay informed of functional issues, new workloads, long-range personnel needs, problems encountered, and other matters that would impact recruitment and placement.
  • Strong knowledge of the recruiting field, to include, but not limited to selection of recruitment events to attend, providing sound guidance and advice to other recruiters, applying professional knowledge to create recruitment strategies, knowledge in the ability to create a robust recruitment team for the Center, etc.
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques for fact finding, analysis, problem identification/resolution and the development of action plans using qualitative and/or quantitative assessment methods to improve complex human resource management processes and systems.
  • Ability to perform research, gather facts, and use effective analytical and evaluative methods to accurately assess information and make sound decisions involving complex issues and the development of concrete action plans. Incumbent must be able to use personal computers and software programs to locate and synthesize information.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy. This ability includes effective interactions with group members and individuals at all levels to achieve a stated position or make an adequate case for a particular strategy.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.
