Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is currently seeking multiple full-time Acquisition Program Management Specialists to work in the Sentinel Systems Division, Software Branch at Hill Air Force Base near Layton, Utah.
These positions (986910, 986907) are for an NH-1101-03 which have a typical 2025 salary range of $88,621 - $137,000.

The AFNWC Sentinel Systems Division manages a major defense acquisition program charged to deliver a full system replacement for the nation’s Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) System, providing a strategic deterrent to nuclear attack against the United States. The Software Branch manages the software development lifecycle, software architecture, software engineering, development policies, and provides testing support for the ICBM modernization program.
The primary purpose of these positions is to serve as Acquisition Program Management Specialists for the Software Branch within the Sentinel Systems Division.
DUTIES:
- Serves as an Acquisition Program Management Specialists for the development and technical oversight of multiple software platforms from requirements to full operational capability.
- Performs activities related to the control and management of cost, schedule, risk, and resource optimization.
- Collects and analyzes Earned Value Management data of software teams to ensure contractor teams are meeting cost and schedule targets.
- Coordinates with Software Branch partners to provide status, data, and risks to meet their oversight needs.
- Coordinates collection of feedback and reporting of performance feedback for contractor support and for prime contractor award fee evaluation.
- Conducts program management reviews of government and contractor partners work in support of the Sentinel Software Branch.
- Performs special projects in support of the Software Branch needs to answer questions and provide data to satisfy requests from higher Air Force and Congressional oversight.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- At least three years program management experience in technology maturation, science and technology innovation, and/or DoD weapon system development.
- Experience managing and executing projects or programs, including gathering stakeholder detailed requirements, and working with contractors to ensure project success.
- Experience with establishing, executing, and managing scope.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of Program/Project Management, Government Procurement, Technical Support, Configuration/Data Management, engineering, and contract support.
- Familiarity with, and willingness, to learn tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MS Project for project tracking and management.
- Familiarity with software development & sustainment, and systems engineering work environments.
- Project financial management such as cost estimating, budgeting, proposal review, cost tracking, and Earned Value Management.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION (NOT ALL INCLUSIVE):
- U.S. CITIZENSHIP
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance and will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving Program Manager “Practitioner” Level certification within 36 months of appointment.
