The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is currently seeking full-time Program Management Specialist to work in the Nuclear Systems Integration Division (NDS), Air Delivered Capabilities Directorate (ND), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Kirtland AFB NM.

This position is a NH-1101-03, which has a typical 2025 salary range of $89,583 – $138,486 with Albuquerque locality.

**IMPORTANT** *This position is not eligible for remote or full time telework; situational based agreements can be requested.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Foreign Military Sales Program Management Specialist on various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) within the Nuclear Systems Integration Division.

DUTIES:
  • Plans, organizes, and directs projects, processes, and procedures for Lead Project Officers, Project Officer Groups and associated Working Groups conducting weapon development, integration and system sustainment activities
  • Establishes programmatic efforts supporting initial and sustained weapons to delivery platform integration programs
  • Formulates / coordinates consolidated management reports, decisions, recommendations, and analyses of weapon integration and certification activities 
  • Analyzes internal and external data to determine effectiveness of projects / processes / procedures and adequacy of implementation within the Nuclear Systems Integration Division
  • Supports / leads exclusive projects and performs special assignments providing in-depth recommendations on resources required to execute to meet milestones and goals 
  • Supports and creates innovative solutions and presents recommendations to leadership for improving operational business needs and requirements
  • Maintains continuous relationships with Nuclear Systems Integration Division mission partners
  • Coordinates program requirements, schedule, and financial status, with program stakeholders while ensuring mission objectives are successfully accomplished on-time and safely.
DESIREABLE EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience with Joint Nuclear Weapon Life-cycle management principles and processes
  • Engineering, logistics, maintenance, or operational experience with USAF strategic and/or tactical nuclear delivery platforms
  • Experience with Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration weapon acquisition programs
  • Experience in managing complex programs involving significant systems integration
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
  • U.S. CITIZENSHIP
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in federal acquisition and program/project management is required.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills with demonstrated experience in leading, influencing and collaborating in a diverse team environment that includes external functional and program stakeholders.
  • Takes initiative, is self-motivating in problem solving, building professional relationships, active engagement in continuous process improvement, an interest in learning new information, and the ability to work independently while mentoring and guiding the work of others on the team are essential.
  • Practical knowledge of and experience with acquisition policies and procedures governed by DoDI 5000.01, DoDM 5030.55, and Phase 6.X Process.
  • The position is coded under the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP); Program Management Practitioner certification is required within 48 months.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employees are required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and may be required to file annually.
  • Bachelor of Science or Arts in business, acquisition, contracting, finance, systems engineering, or similar field is highly desirable.
