Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is currently seeking a full-time Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist to be the Logistics Branch Chief in the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Systems Directorate, Minuteman III Systems Division, at Hill Air Force Base, near Layton, Utah.

This position (960766) is an NH-346-04, which has a typical 2026 salary range of $125,776 - $190,424.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Logistics Branch Chief, supporting the sustainment and development activities in the Minuteman III Systems Directorate. 

DUTIES:
  • Exercises management responsibilities and provides direction to the civilian and military personnel within the Logistics Branch.
  • Establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements.
  • Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization, leadership, and division objectives.
  • Participates in special logistics and development management projects and initiatives and performs special assignments
SKILLS:
  • Four (4) or more years of progressively complex sustainment and acquisition management experience is typically required.
  • Strong communication, leadership skills and a background in logistics and acquisition management are highly desired.
  • Strong leadership, supervision, employee mentorship, teamwork and communication skills to effectively interface with internal and external stakeholders at all levels as well as the independence, assertiveness, self-reliance, and tenacity to get the job done is highly preferred. 
  • Experience with ICBMs, particularly in sustainment of legacy weapon systems, extensive knowledge of AFMC business systems and practices, leading multi-faceted organizations and integrating with engineering, is highly valued.
  • Experience leading diverse working groups or teams; setting clear mission objectives to achieve desired results and outcomes is desired. 
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
  • In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employee may be required to file an Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
  • Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving Life Cycle Logistics “Advanced” certification category within required timeframe after appointment.
