Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is currently seeking two full-time Supervisory Logistics Management Specialists to be Product Support Integrators in the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Systems Directorate, Sentinel Systems Division, at Hill Air Force Base, near Layton, Utah.

These NH-0346-04 positions (986300, 988557) have a typical 2026 salary range of $125,776- $192,331.

The primary purpose of each position is to serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist, either in the Command Systems Segment or the Launch Systems Segment, as a Product Support Integrator. Each position will provide critical support across multiple IPTs/working groups ensuring logistics, sustainment, and readiness goals are met through effective cross-functional coordination and the execution of product support strategies, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, sustainability, and affordability within the Product Segment.
 
DUTIES:
  • Exercise management responsibilities and provide direction to civilian and military logistics personnel within the Product Segment.
  • Advise the Segment Senior Materiel Leader on all product support matters within the Segment, ensuring sustainment considerations are integrated into product decisions. Provide recommendations on product support planning, readiness metrics, and lifecycle affordability.
  • Execute Product Support Manager (PSM) directives at the product level within the Segment, ensuring alignment with the overarching Product Support Strategy. Allocate resources assigned by the PSM for product support activities.
  • Integrate all 12 IPS elements into product design and development within the Segment, emphasizing Human Systems Integration (HSI), Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T), and Intellectual Property (IP) and Data Rights considerations. Regularly collaborate and consult with the Systems Engineer to ensure supportability is designed in from the start.
  • Provide logistics input and recommend approval/disapproval for product-level design reviews and acquisition milestones based on operational availability, reliability, and maintainability assessments within the segment.
  • Actively participate in systems engineering reviews and working groups to ensure product support considerations are fully integrated into the design process within the segment.
  • Communicate and coordinate product support activities with the Lead Product Support Integrator (LPSI) to ensure alignment with the overall System of Systems (SoS) product support strategy. Identify and resolve any product support conflicts or dependencies between the Segment and other Segments within the SoS. Implement standard processes to ensure consistency across sustainment elements for the system and optimize interoperability and interfaces with other systems and Segments for sustainment.

SKILLS:
  • Four (4) or more years of progressively complex sustainment and acquisition management experience is typically required.
  • Strong communication, leadership skills and a background in logistics and acquisition management are highly desired.
  • Strong leadership, supervision, employee mentorship, teamwork and communication skills to effectively interface with internal and external stakeholders at all levels as well as the independence, assertiveness, self-reliance, and tenacity to get the job done is highly preferred. 
  • Experience with ICBMs, particularly in large acquisitions e.g. building strategy, leading multi-faceted organizations and integrating with engineering, is highly valued.
  • Experience leading diverse working groups or teams; setting clear mission objectives to achieve desired results and outcomes is desired. 
  • Knowledge applying the 12 Integrated Product Support Elements is highly preferred.

  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employees must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employees may be required to file an Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
  • Employees must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving Life Cycle Logistics “Advanced” certification category within required timeframe after appointment.
