Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center’s Sentinel Program is seeking one full-time Supervisory Acquisition Program Management Specialist to serve as the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Transformation Chief, located at FE Warren, near Cheyenne, Wyoming.

This NH-1101-04 position (988295) has a typical 2026 salary range of $125,776– $192,331.

The Sentinel program is a major defense acquisition program charged to deliver a full system replacement for the nation’s Minuteman III ICBM, providing a strategic deterrent to nuclear attack against the United States.

Position Description:
  • Engages with extended and geographically dispersed teams, including subject matter experts from across the Sentinel and Minuteman III Programs, AFNWC, Air Force Global Strike Command, integration support contractors, United States Army Corps of Engineers, Air Force Civil Engineering Center and others to ensure deployment activities are successfully planned, coordinated, and executed.
  • Supervises a geographically dispersed team providing oversight, planning and mentoring as well as all other administrative supervisory duties.
  • Supports deployment activities at the appropriate level of maturation for any given milestone, demonstrating team readiness in relation to achieving the milestone entrance and exit criteria.
  • Serves as a technical focal point and daily liaison for integrating efforts with key stakeholders for project planning, scheduling, execution and status reporting on assigned projects.
  • Provides continuous assessment/evaluation of overall program goals, objectives, strategies, performance to ensure a sound basis for long-range acquisition program management processes and follow-on system life cycle support planning.
  • Ensures participation and outcomes of special projects result in positive impact(s) on the organization and/or improves quality.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of an organization and mentor, motivate, develop and appraise assigned staff as well as analyze, plan, and adjust work operations to meet project requirements, goals and objectives within available resources and other statutory/regulatory constraints.  Experience with supervising a geographically separated team is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills with demonstrated experience in leading, influencing and collaborating in a diverse team environment that includes government and contractor stakeholders.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships, building consensus and coalitions, negotiating, and resolving conflicts with a variety of stakeholders and their organizations as well as communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Experience with the site activation or deployment/fielding of a new Weapon System addressing all support elements and sustainment requirements for successful operation and sustainment over the life cycle.
  • Strong background in collateral, sensitive compartmented, and special access program security program management is preferred.
  • Knowledge of acquisition concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques to apply to problems.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION (NOT ALL-INCLUSIVE):
  • U.S. CITIZENSHIP
  • Must be TS/SCI eligible; this position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. Active TS/SCI or TS clearance preferred. Please include current clearance level in your resume.
  • This position is designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).  The selected candidate must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act requirements applicable to the duties of the position, which includes achieving Program Management “Advanced” certifications within associated time allocations following appointment.
  • In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employee may be required to file an Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
  • This is a designated Drug Testing Position.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
