The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is currently seeking one full-time Supervisory Acquisition Program Management Specialist to serve as the Deputy IPT Lead for Long Range Standoff (LRSO) Production Integrated Product Team (IPT)  (NOVRHR301M) working in the Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division, Eglin Air Force Base, FL.

This position is a NH-1101-04 which has a typical 2026 salary range of $125,776 – 192,331 (Includes locality)

The goals and objectives of the position are to:  Lead the preparation activities to support the LRSO Milestone C decision and perform the duties of the deputy production IPT lead.
 
The ideal candidates will have:  Significant experience leading multi-functional weapon system acquisition program teams through preparing the LRSO program for a successful Milestone C decision in 3QFY27 and subsequent Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and Full Rate Production (FRP) activities.
 
DUTIES:
  • Lead and supervise a team of multi-disciplined acquisition professionals to achieve LRSO and Production IPT priorities.
  • Lead programmatic and technical management activities for the Production IPT.
  • Lead management and technical reviews during Engineering, Manufacturing and Development (EMD) supporting various test and evaluation milestones in preparation for Production and Deployment (P&D).
  • Advise IPT and Division leadership on programmatic and technical risks and issues affecting the cost, schedule, and performance of the LRSO production initiatives.
  • Works in Digital Engineering Support systems including Model Based System Engineering, Product Life-cycle Management, and others to develop and execute a Digital Acquisition program.
  • Identifies and resolves highly complex problems crossing organizational boundaries and promulgate solutions.
  • Proactively develops and presents technical and programmatic briefings and reports to Senior Executives.
  • Engages with geographically dispersed stakeholders including the AFNWC, Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration, Air Force Global Strike Command, and Department of War (DoW) officials to ensure LRSO activities are successfully planned, coordinated, and executed.
SKILLS
  • Candidates should have demonstrated program management and/or technical experience in the development of hardware for aerospace systems.          
  • Candidates should have demonstrated experience leading in a team environment.
  • Candidates should have strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Candidates should have demonstrated experience conducting drawing reviews and analysis, conducting production line qualification, reviewing technical data packages, and supporting all-up round (AUR) level tests.
  • Candidates should be knowledgeable in DoW acquisition processes, to include but not limited to: risk and opportunity management processes, configuration control board processes, and Government Control Account Manager (GCAM) processes.
  • Candidates should have a sound understanding and a record of experience with professional scientific or engineering principles, modeling and simulation frameworks, requirements development, and verification activities.
  • It is desirable for candidates to have experience in the development; test and evaluation; production and fielding; and/or sustainment of cruise missiles.
  • It is desirable for candidates to be knowledgeable in the unique aspects of nuclear weapon systems to include nuclear certification and radiation effects.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
  • U.S. CITIZENSHIP
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Management or Engineering.  A master’s degree or higher in management is desirable.  Applicant must meet qualifications set by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management associated with the 1101 Individual Occupational Requirements described at http://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-policies/
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain a Top Secret and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
  • In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employee may be required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually
  • Highly desired: 10+ years of program management and/or technical management experience in all levels of DoW acquisition management (A&S, ACATI – III)
  • This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position. Employee is expected to meet Continuous Acquisition Education requirements.   APDP Certification level:  Program Management, Advanced certification.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre‐employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
