AFNWC/NC, the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Integration Directorate, is seeking a highly qualified and motivated full-time Acquisition Program Manager (NOVRHR141M) to fill an NC3 Sustainment NH-1101-03 vacancy in Colorado Springs, CO. Peterson Space Force Base.

This NH-1101-03 position has a typical 2026 salary range of $91,870 - $142,022 including Colorado Springs area locality pay.

This position serves as a Program Manager in the NC3 Sustainment Program office. This position supports acquisition and modifications to the NC3 weapon system within the NC3 Sustainment Division. As a key member of this incredible team, you will directly collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across the DoD and industry to ensure program success. More specifically, you will be managing teams enabling the sustainment of new and aging nuclear communication programs to provide the world’s most leading-edge technologies available to the warfighter and ensure the surety of America’s nuclear arsenal.

Candidates should have a strong background in program management, Cost, Schedule, and Performance with knowledge of sustainment and modifications.  Knowledge of NC3 organization Contractor Logistics Support contracts and knowledge of nuclear deterrence and the nuclear triad are desired.

This position is not eligible for remote work or regular and/or recurring telework.

Skillsets that are desired for this role:
  • Knowledge of laws, principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and DoD program management
  • Experience executing and managing DoD sustainment contracts.
  • Knowledge of business, industrial management, contracting procedures, technical concepts, and production practices to evaluate contractor proposals and activities
  • Knowledge of missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DoD, Air Force, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the acquisition process
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy
  • Experience with the USAF nuclear enterprise and/or DoD communication systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with individuals and groups
  • Ability to lead teams and plan, organize, manage, and brief on critical aspects of research, development, production/construction, and support of subsystems or equipment, and integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of acquisition functions and personnel
  • APDP Program Manager Practitioner certification is highly desired.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in federal acquisition, program/project management is highly desired.
  • A security clearance of Secret or above is highly desired.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
  • U.S. CITIZENSHIP
  • Required to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre‐employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise
  • Employee may occasionally be required to travel to a temporary duty station on commercial or military aircraft.
  • This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position. Existing Program Management Practitioner (formerly Program Management Level II) certification is required.  Employee is expected to meet Continuous Acquisition Education requirements.
