AFNWC honors annual award winners

The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center announced its annual award winners at a ceremony Feb. 2 at the Kirtland Air Force Base Mountain View Club.

The Kirtland winners are:

Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year — Staff Sgt. Joshua McMillan; Nuclear Technology and Interagency Directorate at Kirtland.

Company-Grade Officer of the Year — Capt. Jonathan Yap; Contracting Directorate at Kirtland.

Category III Civilian of the Year — John Hedenberg; Air-Delivered Capabilities Directorate at Kirtland.

Team of the Year — Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) Sustainment Health Assessment Team at Kirtland: team lead Lt. Col. Jason Rossi, Kristina Estrada, Maj. Jason Zarb-Cousin, David Bax, Brett Riley, Dale Hitchcock, Leslie Remy and Capt. Robert Drumm.

Outstanding Service Awards — Susan Voveris of the Logistics Directorate, Kevin Daul of the Nuclear Technology and Interagency Directorate and Esther Gomez (retired) of the Manpower and Personnel Directorate, all of Kirtland.

Winners from other Nuclear Weapons Center sites are:

Airman of the Year — Senior Airman Robert Beaver of the NC3 Integration Directorate at Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts.

Senior NCO of the Year — Master Sgt. Bradley Hinds of the Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles Directorate at Hill AFB, Utah.

Field-Grade Officer of the Year — Maj. Marsha Karlan of the Air-Delivered Capabilities Directorate at Eglin AFB, Florida.

Category I Civilian of the Year — Mykenzie Hamblin of the Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles Directorate at Hill AFB.

Category II Civilian of the Year — Landry Recla of the Air-Delivered Capabilities Directorate at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma.

Category IV Civilian of the Year — Kenneth Pickler of the Air-Delivered Capabilities Directorate at Eglin.
